The Feminine Within You Wants to be Seen

THE STORY BEHIND THE INFAMOUS GIRLS CLUB “SOLO”

I once had an Academy called The Girls Club.

We practiced the art of full feminine expression.
These women were challenged to dance in packed restaurants while claiming their space. Watch the video see and feel what I mean.

Through this, they became unapologetically connected to their bodies, their sensuality, and unafraid to BE the stories they were embodying. It was just so inspiring.

One of my favourite things to do was to help them to cultivate their own SOLO. The solo was a compilation of everything that felt true to them in the moment.
No premeditated steps. It was genuine artistry.
They created with their environment.

It was a complete surrender to the flow, the music, the space and the people within it.

In the studio, we would practice expanding their limits of free expression. I would create real scenarios that called them to show up, and feel the edge of pressure while staying open, connected, and PRESENT with whatever outcome occurred. Whether or not they felt “successful”, there was an inherent success in following the exercise all the way through without succumbing to the usual pressures of putting yourself out there.

With each show, they became more emboldened to be completely free in their choices. Oh my goodness the way they played, interacted, and created moments with people, was such a treat to watch. Because we never knew what was going to happen next! We didn’t know who’s drink they would be taking, which bench they would be backflipping over, or who’s hair was going to be messed with! What we DID know, was that everything happened organically, and on the fly.

We were on the edge of our seats and these women captured our attention with their expression. And that’s why it was so riveting! 

What was really powerful about it all, is that it wasn’t a performance.
It was actually a REVEALING of what already lived inside of them that just needed *something* to nudge it out into full expression.

That *something* was having eyes on them.

The pressure of being seen, helped them become more of themselves.

It’s funny because so many of us fear being seen, when truthfully, it’s through being seen that we experience ourselves more fully.

The feminine within us truly wants to be seen.
So give her the stage.
She will create art with the way she moves.

Every touch,
Every sound,
Every moment -- meaningful.

This is why I came here, to help you remember.
To remember yourself as living art.
Creation in motion.
Life moves you, and you move with and AS life itself.

To deny this freedom is to deny living.
